Meridian has a strong initiative to produce less waste, consume less energy, and make responsible decisions regarding the environment - both internally and externally. As a company we work diligently to find new ways to continually advance our green initiatives. Many of the companies that partner with us also have similar initiatives to do their part in saving the environment. Check out the environmental positions of some of our technology partners below.
Ricoh. For over 20 years, Ricoh has led the office automation industry in creating environmentally friendly products and processes, and in promoting partnerships among government, industry, and environmental groups. Referencing Ricoh's philosophy of "Our earth, Our tomorrow", we share in their belief that because we all share the planet, we are all obligated to protect and preserve it. Ricoh believes that good corporate citizenship is good business. As of FY 2001, all U.S. Ricoh facilities have achieved ISO 14001 Certification.
Konica Minolta. Konica Minolta is aware of the magnitude of global environmental problems and continually takes autonomous and proactive measures to protect the environment. Konica Minolta has established Level 1 zero emissions criteria, including targets for recycling and final disposal (landfill) rates, as well as for cost-cutting. To reach Level 2, they must meet the reduction rate targets for externally discarded waste volumes, while also striving for greater reductions in cost and risk. Characteristically, Konica Minolta' s zero emissions activities are integrated into management, from the perspective of both risk management and economy.
RISO. Protecting the environment is an important part of what RISO stands for. RISO has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 100,000 trees in US National Forests over the course of the next four years. Reflecting RISO's commitment to the environment, these trees will help replenish national forests damaged by fires or disease and will be planted on behalf of RISO’s customers and partners.
Panasonic. Panasonic's concerns for environmental protection and sustainability date back to their founder, Konosuke Matsushita and his belief of putting people before products. Today, Panasonic pledges to practice prudent, sustainable use of the earth's natural resources and the protection of the environment. Along with the many benefits associated with the use and enjoyment of new technologies comes a responsibility that is not taken lightly.
Canon. Canon's commitment and contribution to the environment and to the world community are an integral part of their management structure, product design, manufacturing, and corporate culture. Canon seeks to be a truly excellent global corporation, striving to improve their relationships with local communities, to increase their respect for the environment, and contribute to the prosperity of the world and the happiness of its people.
